Job Purpose As a Soil Health Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the writing and delivery of successful research grants and projects, acting as a technical specialist within the team. You will also work with the Projects and MarComms teams to assist in delivering commercial projects and technical content for outreach and marketing. Main Duties Proactively research and engage with the sector to understand current opportunities and challenges. Support the building of consortia and grant writing to contribute to the successful and growing CR&D portfolio. Provide technical support for the Innovation and Projects teams as required. Raise awareness of the UK Agri-Tech Centre and its capabilities. Provide relevant documentation and reports internally. Produce briefing documents and presentations as required for colleagues, board, and wider audience. Assist with appropriate reporting to the Innovation, Capabilities, BD and Project Teams as required. Attend and represent the UK Agri-Tech Centre at events as required. Be an ambassador for the UK Agri-Tech Centre within the scientific community creating relationships and building potential opportunities. Qualifications, Skills and Experience A good honours degree in a science discipline. A PhD in Biology/Agriculture/Agronomy/Soil Science is desirable. Experience and understanding of the academic research and development sector and/or commercial research sector. Experience and knowledge of the UK funding landscape. Experience in grant writing for UK funding bodies. Ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders – technical and non-technical. Ability to build relationships with a range of organisations and people. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to engage with all stakeholders. Confident, friendly and articulate manner. Experience in developing and maintaining networks. Able to work to tight deadlines. Ability to work both as a team member and on own initiative. Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages. Full UK driving licence. Ability to represent ATC nationally and internationally as required. Additional Information Some travel will be required.
