The division employs over 9,000 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products which are then marketed to UK consumers via major retailers.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
With an onsite hub at one of our UK production facilities, the Technical Manager role for our Amber Foods division will be focused on ensuring the effective and efficient management of Quality assurance. You will ensure all legal procedures and company & customer requirements are met, and continually improve quality standards.
You can expect the role to involve:
1. Domestic travelling to our UK Poultry Division sites across the UK.
2. Ensure implementation on a day-to-day basis of technical standards across all Amber Foods traded products.
3. Ensure adherence to food safety and Animal by-products legislation across AFL traded/integrated processes.
4. Be the first point of contact for site technical queries and customer technical queries.
5. Ensure requests for information and complaints are efficiently responded to.
6. Ensure site HACCP covers all commodities (traded/brokered/integrated).
7. Ensure adequate QA resource is in place to cover Amber Foods processes where applicable.
8. Carry out trend analysis on complaints, microbiological and quality issues.
9. Provide general technical support for the operational/production AFL team on sites.
10. Confidently and professionally represent Amber Foods on Third Party audits with customers, suppliers and regulating authorities.
11. Assist in the facilitation of audits for 2sfg sites as an Amber Foods representative.
ABOUT YOU:

1. Able to reliably commute and be based at one of our production facilities (West Bromwich, Flixton, Coupar Angus, Sandycroft, Scunthorpe or Willand).
2. Full Driving License.
3. Knowledge of Food Safety.
4. Excellent communication, writing, and customer service.
Ideally:
1. Knowledge of HACCP.
2. Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and macros.
