Responsibilities:
* Create plans and strategies to deliver new insurance schemes to deliver growth and support plans in the schemes arena.
* Delivery of 2 new schemes per annum, a scheme being recognized through the delivery of £250,000 retained income on an annual basis.
* Instigate research to ascertain feasibility of new scheme development and market test to create strategic forecast and growth plans.
* Validate opportunities and use relationships and access to support critical insight and secure advocacy of scheme and associated product.
* Positive engagement, support and collaboration across Howden UK Group resulting in aligned strategy and cross organisation projects supporting identification of new scheme opportunities.
* Maintain entrepreneurial mentality and thought leadership to develop new markets, access channels and opportunities, including compelling cases for investment as well as translating plans into operational delivery.
* Effectively build and maintain a pipeline of new scheme opportunities through continuous research and development activity.
* Positively engage and integrate with insurers and/or MGAs to support bespoke product development for new scheme opportunities.
* Keep up to date with developments, trends and challenges in the insurance sector.
* Effectively solve problems and manage risk to ensure achievement of goals.
* Integrate with internal key stakeholders to create new opportunities and ratify plans.
Requirements:
* Proven sales & business development experience gained in an insurance background.
* Strategically focussed.
* Proven track record in building B2B relationships.
* Excellent experience, knowledge, and key contact relationships in the insurance sector.
* Highly commercially aware, ability to develop, understand and evaluate financial business cases/plans and modelling (both internally and externally).
* Vision to identify and ability to provide strategic direction to successfully identify and access new markets and customer groups.
* Creative ability to analyse research and insight to develop new strategic products and markets.
* Transformational mindset and ability to work with change; and change the business.
* Excellent presentation, negotiation and influencing skills, including objection management. Experience in pitching to clients with a range of needs.
* Experience of using software systems including Acturis.
* Clear understanding of Howden, its history and relevance to the market sectors targeted and how value can be achieved.
* Clear understanding of company goals.
* Confident networker able to gain trust in business partners.
