Company
We are actively recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work within a large international company at one of their premium factories in this historic market town in North Norfolk. You will benefit from joining a small, friendly and loyal team of Maintenance Engineers who provide planned maintenance & respond to breakdowns within their fast-paced production environment.
With a positive & proactive attitude being the key to success within this multi-skilled engineering role, the manager is open to consider both current multi-skilled Technicians / Engineers or those Technicians / Engineers who are interested in expanding their remit from a pure Mechanical or Electrical specialist, to becoming multi-skilled!
The Role
Working under the direction of the senior engineer, this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician will provide their efforts to complete allocated mechanical & electrical maintenance tasks and projects, ensuring quality and completion of the tasks are delivered within the agreed timescales.
Responsibilities include undertaking planned maintenance, reacting to breakdowns, delivering equipment upgrades, new installations and infrastructure changes, together with building maintenance as & when required.
The position requires shift work with the pattern being plant specific and on-call work to provide cover for emergency breakdowns and shutdown periods.
This is a multi-skilled environment, however either bias is acceptable with help and support provided for the Maintenance Engineer to improve the lesser discipline.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Engineers get the opportunity to cover both electrical & mechanical maintenance work across the factory and you are encouraged and supported to develop your weaker side.
Your main and primary role is supporting all of the production machinery. This includes combating and resolving breakdowns and machinery problems. Also working through planned preventative maintenance and undertaking project work such as new installations or upgrades to machinery.
Requirements
A background in Maintenance engineering or Service Engineering in any environment, such as industrial, facilities, FMCG, building services or similar type production/manufacturing environments.
Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold engineering qualifications ie. NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled.
Enjoy good maintenance and troubleshooting skills across some of the following; motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, boilers, pumps, inverters, sensors, relays, contactors, 3 phase motors, PLC’s, pneumatics, hydraulics or similar.
Are multi-skilled across electrical & mechanical – either bias is equally welcome – alternatively you have a passion to build on your current speciality (Mechanical or Electrical) and become multi-skilled!
Have good fault-finding skills.
Are friendly and adaptable, with the ability to work well as part of a small team
Are proactive and enjoy getting your hands dirty
With an induction and with the support of the engineering team, it is essential that you can carry out all work out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the Health and Safety manual, to the relevant engineering standards.
