As a PGCE English Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' success in their GCSE English exams. You will deliver tailored lessons that align with the GCSE curriculum, focusing on key skills such as reading comprehension, creative and analytical writing, and exam preparation. Your role is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel motivated to achieve their full potential.
This is a flexible, part-time role with hours ranging from 1 to 30 per week. Sessions can be scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on your availability and the student's needs.
- Provide one-to-one tutoring in GCSE English, adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Support students in mastering reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Deliver engaging, structured, and tailored lessons that address learning gaps and build confidence.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Create a nurturing and motivating environment to support academic success.
- PGCE in English or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) (essential).
- Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in GCSE English.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- A compassionate and patient teaching approach to support diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and families.
