We have an exciting new role working with a wonderful returning client who has a dedicated private charity focused on funding innovative ocean conservation initiatives and sustainability projects to improve the overall health of our planet. The charity is passionate about creating a sustainable future and are looking for a skilled Charity Administrator to help oversee and manage the funding processes.
As the Charity Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the grant application and funding process, ensuring that all projects align with the charity’s mission of promoting ocean conservation and sustainability. This role requires excellent administrative and organisational skills, strong financial acumen, and a proven track record of working within the charity sector.
This is a part time role, with 20 hours per week required. Although the role is 99% remote, the private charity’s founder is located in Oxfordshire, where you will very occasionally be required to attend face-to-face meetings a few times throughout the year.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
1. Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, from identifying and assessing potential funding opportunities to submission and post-award management.
2. Communicate with grant recipients to ensure compliance with funding requirements, track milestones, and report on project progress.
3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive grant management system that includes documentation and record-keeping for grant proposals, agreements, and performance metrics.
4. Monitor and manage grant budgets to ensure financial compliance and accountability for all funded projects.
5. Prepare and submit reports to stakeholders and donors summarizing the outcomes and impacts of funded projects.
6. Collaborate with the program team to evaluate grants and identify areas for future funding opportunities.
7. Assist in developing grant application materials, including proposals and budgets, in alignment with organizational priorities.
8. Liaise with lawyers, accountants, and trustees.
9. Coordinate with charities to set up meetings, confirm support and transfers, secure grant agreements, and conduct similar activities.
10. Work with other external parties associated with the charity, such as consultants, personnel, software specialists, and other entities necessary for the charity's effective operation.
11. Organise meetings for trustees.
12. Record the proceedings of the meetings.
13. Maintain paperwork associated with meetings, decisions, bank transfers, and other operational records.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience working for charities, with a strong understanding of grant management and fundraising.
2. Excellent administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Proven financial skills, including budget management and reporting.
4. Strong organisational and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
6. Passion for the environment, ocean conservation and sustainability is highly preferred.
7. Right to work in the UK.
8. Excellent, verifiable references.
