Job Purpose
As Deputy Head Teacher for the Secondary School, you will oversee Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development. You will have direct line management for Assistant Head Teachers and oversight of the education staff team.
You will collaborate with other Deputy Head Teachers and support the Head Teacher to maintain high standards in line with the Independent School Standards.
Candidate Profile
This permanent role suits a proactive individual with senior leadership experience, ideally with SEN experience, but candidates from other sectors with relevant skills are welcome. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Approaches and Positive Behaviour Management is essential, with training provided.
Minimum Requirements
* Experience as Designated Safeguarding Lead
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with NPQ accreditation or willingness to obtain within 12 months
* Strong, adaptable communication skills
* Flexible working approaches
* Self-management skills
* Experience managing an education staff team at senior level
* Ability to meet deadlines consistently
* Relevant teaching qualification and OFSTED inspection experience
* Knowledge of Autism, SEND, and related legislation and standards
