About the role
Permanent - 37 hours a week – Term time
* To monitor all students in the assigned year group, both academically and with behavioural and pastoral issues.
* Work closely with the Head of Year, the SENCo and senior leaders on intervention strategies, targeting students for intervention and other issues which may present a barrier to learning.
* To utilise BromCom in order to track and intervene with internal truants, students who are consistently late for lessons or who attend poorly overall.
* To have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day via the C and R system.
* Supervise the start of the day, break and lunchtime.
* To supervise students prior to formal examinations.
* Support sanctions by contacting parents to inform them of suspensions and covering the IER/removal rooms and detentions.
* Support SLT/Head of Year at all readmission meetings.
* Respond to calls for support in lessons.
Who we are looking for:
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Good keyboard skills and knowledge of relevant IT packages.
* Experience of working with relevant age groups within a learning environment.
* Able to use basic IT including computer, audio, video equipment and photocopier.
* Ability to provide necessary personal care to children.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* Ability to relate well to children.
