About the Role: As a Project Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technical project delivery. You’ll be designing, planning, and executing hydraulic systems, including hydraulic power units, control consoles, bespoke hydraulic systems, and manifolds. This role offers variety, with involvement in mechanical assembly, commissioning, and customer interaction. You'll ensure all technical, commercial, and financial targets are met, maintaining seamless communication with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with customers to review and clarify their requirements.
Prepare engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, quotations, and technical specifications.
Carry out engineering calculations to optimise system performance.
Select and size components for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
Resolve product design issues, ensuring manufacturability and serviceability.
Create technical documents (work instructions, risk assessments, procedures, reports).
Support engineers and technicians during testing and commissioning phases.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications and project deadlines.
Contribute to project KPIs and participate in post-project reviews.

2:1 or higher Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical/control systems.
Experience with engineering calculations and component selection.
Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Clear communication skills (both written and verbal).
Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
