1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant Job in Salford

Salary: £90-105/day DOE
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Paid PAYE via Now Education, equal pay to perm staff in similar role from 13th week onwards. Long term, could go perm eventually. Starting ASAP in February.
Role:
This is a role for a hardworking & committed 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding primary school in Salford, starting ASAP in February 2025. This full-time position involves supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in Year 4 with Social & Emotional needs (SEMH).
What you'll do:
1. Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH needs who has good aptitude levels but struggles to focus in class and can sometimes be disruptive.
2. Build a relationship with the pupil quickly, understanding his needs, triggers, and interests.
3. Demonstrate resilience, patience, and empathy to improve the pupil's learning situation.
4. Support colleagues in the group and wider school.
5. Aid in the implementation of educational activities and lessons.
6. Contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Ideal candidate:
1. Previous experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or similar roles is ideal.
2. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential.
3. Ability to recognize triggers and implement prevention and de-escalation strategies.
4. An adaptable, flexible, and proactive approach is required.
5. A positive attitude and a genuine desire to support the pupil and the class in their development.

Requirements:
1. CV with full history from education to present.
2. Right to Work & Proof of Address in the UK.
3. DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
4. Minimum of 2 professional references.
5. Overseas Police Check if applicable.
6. Some experience supporting children displaying challenging behaviours.
