HR/ OD Advisor - Employee Relations

Hybrid working, 2 days in the office
Key responsibilities:
1. Take a professional lead in one or more specific areas of the HR function (e.g. case work, change management, policy, pay, workforce development, management information, recruitment) to ensure the service delivered is appropriate, effective and efficient.
2. Support and work with colleagues in the HR team and the business to enable the achievement of business outcomes.
3. Work closely with the Business Partner or relevant strategic HR leads to scope the needs of the business.
4. Implement creative and innovative HR solutions to improve business outcomes.
5. Establish credibility and value with service/ partner managers.
6. Achieve individual and team efficiencies through improved working practices.
7. Identify gaps and challenges regarding HR processes/working relationships and identify solutions where appropriate.
8. Undertake and complete identified projects which ensure continuous improvement of either the HR function or the business.
9. Proactively share learning points with HR colleagues.
10. Act as an advocate for organisational aims by owning, supporting and promoting organisational decisions and reflecting those decisions in your own practice.
Qualifications:
* MCIPD or equivalent HR/OD qualification and/or equivalent experience - essential
Key requirements:
* Previous experience in Employee relations and Organisational Development.
* Previous experience relating to large scale organisational change, TUPE, complex contractual change and redundancies.
* Experience of supporting managers with the development of the case for change, consultation documents, union liaison etc.
* An understanding of the GLPC, Hay Evaluation or other job evaluation process work.
* Experience of restructure projects and project management skills.
* In-depth experience in all areas of HR to be flexibly assigned and make an immediate impact in any area of HR.
* Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context, ideally within a public sector organisation.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
* Proven skills in planning, developing and evaluating projects, programmes, and changes in work practice for continuous improvement for overall service delivery.
* Ability to work effectively with people at all levels and to build effective relationships.
