HV Plant Engineer (Glasgow or Birmingham)\n\nAbout the Role: Join our clients Transmission & Distribution team as an HV Plant Engineer. You'll lead and produce design engineering deliverables for substation projects, focusing on voltages from 11kV to 400kV. This role involves technical solution development, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead technical solutions for substation design projects.\nProduce detailed substation design packages.\nConduct earthing studies and design substation earth systems.\nPrepare calculations and technical specifications.\nEnsure compliance with CDM Regulations and other legal requirements.\nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.\nSupport client meetings and project proposals.\nPromote a 'Safety by Design' approach.Requirements:\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.\nMinimum 3 years of substation engineering design experience.\nMembership in a relevant professional engineering institution.\nStrong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and engineering design management.\nExcellent communication and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Desirable:\n\nHealth & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).\nProfessional registration as an Incorporated Engineer.\nKnowledge of National Grid procedures and CAD technology.If this is something that you or someone you may know might be interested in then please apply.\n\nThe NRL Group connect global companies with the right people to bring engineering projects to life.
