Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Register, label, and log incoming protein and DNA samples from CROs or internal production into internal databases.
* Manage sample data and ensure accurate and timely import into sample inventory and sequence management systems (e.g., FreezerPro, Genedata).
* Track sample deliveries, coordinate requests, and maintain up-to-date records to support timely material availability.
* Perform characterization assays on proteins as needed, including techniques such as SEC, MS, DSF, and endotoxin measurements.
* Collaborate with CROs to facilitate and optimize data transfers and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
* Provide feedback to colleagues and development teams to improve tools and systems for sample registration and data management.
* Generate clear and concise reports, maintain electronic lab notebooks, and document sample-related findings.
* Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Data Strategy, Pharmacy, and Information Resources, to align on tool development and data management improvements.
* Use software tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for data handling, reporting, and presentations.
Requirements:
* BS or MS in biology or related field with 2+ years (BS), or 0+ years (MS) of pharmaceutical and/or relevant experience.
* Experience with protein and biologics sample handling.
* Knowledge of analytical techniques to characterize proteins (e.g. SEC, MS, DSF).
* Familiarity with sequence management databases (e.g. Genedata).
* Knowledge of sample inventory management databases (e.g. FreezerPro).
* Experience interacting with CROs to coordinate and improve data transfer.
* Excellent organizational skills to track multiple requests and sample deliveries to ensure timely material delivery.
* Excellent communication skills to provide feedback to data strategy, pharmacy, and information resources teams for new tool development.
* Familiarity with report and electronic notebook systems.
* Skilled in usage of software programs, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience with analytical techniques including SEC, MS, endotoxin measurement, and DSF.
* Experience with automation (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton, etc).
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Experience with Python scripting for file parsing and tool building.
