Job Description:
The Karting Technical Manager oversees all technical matters related to Karting activities, acting as a project leader and driving the technical evolution of the discipline. The role involves managing regulations - including technical regulations tailored to address the specific needs of the energy transition - and homologation processes. You will ensure that the pole implements all necessary action to meet the strategic objectives set by the FIA Karting department.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Delegate
* Attends all FIA Karting Championship Events as the CIK-FIA Technical Delegate and leads the team of CIK Scrutineers.
* Oversees all CIK-FIA technical/control equipment required for each FIA Karting Championship Event.
Technical Regulations Management
* Propose the strategic planning of future Technical and Sporting regulations.
* Manages the preparation and follow-up of the Commissions.
* Serves as the main point of contact for all technical inquiries/requests related to the Karting activities.
* Manages and participates in all CIK-FIA Karting Technical Working Groups and oversees and presents all reports and proposals to the CIK.
* Prepares and follows-up on Technical Regulations, and implements homologation procedures and technical inspections, including technical regulations tailored to address the specific needs of the energy transition.
* Manages the entire CIK-FIA homologation inspection process (dossier preparation, inspections; coordination with laboratories for testing; tyre track tests).
Global Karting Plan
* Contribute to the development of the FIA Spec chassis and FIA spec engines in line with the overall Global Karting plan.
* Proposes a roadmap to develop technical regulations in motor sport that address the specific needs of the energy transition.
* Collaborates closely with the Safety department to meet the objectives set by the CIK, driven by the requirements of the championships.
* Contribute to the future of the championships by proposing ambitious and pragmatic technical solutions to fulfil the strategic and sporting vision of the FIA; in terms of performance, sustainability, and cost.
* Proposes and supervises the operating budget for Karting technical and safety activities.
PROFILE:
* 10 to 15 years of experience in motor sport, with a strong focus on karting activities.
* Strong English skills, both written and spoken.
* Proficiency in Italian and French is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of the motor sport environment and karting categories.
* Good knowledge of sporting and technical regulations.
* Ability to understand and engage with sporting matters.
* Interest in new technologies, including electrified vehicles and hydrogen-related technologies.
* Analytical and problem-solving approach.
* Availability and willingness to travel extensively.
