Job Title : Work Placement Officer Location : Rotherham Hours : Part-time, Term Time (22.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year) Salary : £24,249 FTE (£13,044.55 pro-rata) per annum Benefits Contract Type : Permanent About the Role Protocol is working with a FE college based in Rotherham in their search for a Work Placement Officer based in Rotherham to support students in securing valuable work placements that enhance their learning journey. This role is essential in creating connections between students and employers, ensuring placement experiences complement academic studies and provide meaningful development opportunities. As a Work Placement Officer, you will collaborate with curriculum teams to plan a range of placements, assist students with finding suitable opportunities, and maintain a centralised database of placement providers. Your work will ensure that students have access to high-quality placements in a safe, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a schedule of work placements in collaboration with curriculum teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to create a centralised database of placement opportunities. Ensure placement providers meet health and safety standards and offer positive, enriching environments for students. Provide guidance to students on placement opportunities, ensuring they receive the necessary support throughout the placement process. Monitor and evaluate the success of placements, gathering feedback from students and employers to ensure continued improvement. About You To be successful in this role, you will need: Previous experience working within an educational setting or with young people, preferably in a Further Education or Post-16 environment. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, with an ability to evaluate and ensure safety compliance at placement sites. Qualifications in English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent. Excellent communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.
