Description
We are committed to the development of our workforce. This position is only available to applicants who already work for Surrey County Council.
The starting salary for this role is £68,774 per annum, working 36 hours per week.
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.
You will have heard through our briefings and staff webinars of our ambitious plans for residents through transforming the way we provide adult social care services for Older Adults.
We are looking for an existing Senior Manager or ambitious Team Manager to be seconded to the Older Adults Transformation Team for up to 12 months.
You will lead a small team focused on innovation and delivering services differently in order to improve outcomes and help deliver savings for the Council, as set out in the diagnostic work facilitated by Newton Europe earlier this year.
You must be prepared to travel to any of our localities in Surrey for focused pieces of work with locality colleagues that will identify improved ways of working that can then be implemented Surrey-wide.
You will direct the work of a team of 4 workers, qualified in social work and occupational therapy, who themselves will have been selected to work on this innovative project. The project team is supported by a project worker with support as needed from brokerage, commissioning, business intelligence and finance.
You will need the permission of your line manager for the secondment but backfill will be available to cover your substantive post.
Please submit an expression of interest telling us, in no more than 1000 words and by 10am on 6th January 2025, why you are the right person for this role.
For further information and an informal discussion about the role, please contact Paul Richards or Wendy Hale, who are the project sponsors.
Minimum Requirements
* To apply for this role you must be a current Senior Manager or Team Manager in AWHP.
* You must have approval from your line manager to submit your expression of interest.
Our Commitment
Surrey County Council is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. A guaranteed interview will be offered to all disabled applicants where:
* The candidate has evidenced the minimum criteria for the role through their application.
* The candidate has chosen to share that they have a disability on the application form.
Our application form and onboarding process will provide an opportunity to request any reasonable adjustments for the interview and/or the role. We want to be an inclusive and diverse employer reflecting the community we serve and particularly welcome applications from all underrepresented groups.
