Project Manager (with NEC PSC experience)
Location: London (Office with some remote working available)
Role Overview:
We’re looking for an ambitious Project Manager with 5-8 years experience and a keen interest in the delivery of innovative advisory/consultancy projects. You will be responsible for administering and managing projects for our Infrastructure Performance Consultancy (IPC) team – who provide engineering-led strategic advice to many leading infrastructure clients; improving capital programmes, saving cost and carbon. You will manage consultancy commissions in line with NEC3/4 PSC contract terms and achieve the aims set by the Project Director. This typically includes working closely and efficiently with industry-leading subject matter experts to advise major infrastructure projects, and then advance industry best practice with the ICE and Infrastructure Client Group. You will provide high quality contract and project management standards from start to finish of the consultancy commission. You will play a key role in supporting the Project Teams and work closely with our Commercial and Finance Departments.
Key responsibilities:
* Support the Project Director and Group Commercial Manager in review and negotiation of Appointment terms, where appropriate
* Support the Project Director to develop delivery plans for Projects/Workstreams to ensure client and internal objectives are met
* Manage Sub-consultants; drafting agreements in accordance with services and contractual obligations with support from the Project Director/Group Commercial Manager
* Manage internal team and sub-consultant resource in line with forecasts and Project programme under the overview of the Project Director
* Manage change and risk under the overview of the Project Director, including EWN/CEs
* Manage invoicing; preparation of timesheet and expense reports as required, AfPs and invoicing approvals
* Produce weekly/monthly reports including project programmes and risk registers in line with contractual requirements, and then support the Project Director/Manager with internal financial /commercial reporting
* Provide Contract/Project document control and filing
* Challenge the status quo and work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced agile environment.
* Participation in cross-trust activities, including B Corp initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills and expertise
Essential:
* Experience of NEC suite of contracts, particularly NEC3/4 PSC
* Experience in managing forecast resource, AFP, invoicing, Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events etc. for small/medium consultancy/advisory commissions
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Experience using in-house project management tools (e.g Rapport 3 or similar)
* Contractual experience in the infrastructure sector and/or fundamental knowledge of Construction industries and understanding of commercial considerations.
* Experience in managing contractual and commercial risk, ideally for consultancy/advisory commissions
* Digitally adept with a knowledge of technological tools to improve workflow, AI, PowerBI etc
* Ability to prepare reports using a variety of Microsoft tools.
* A passion for improving infrastructure in the UK and beyond.
Desirable (one or more from the following):
* Professionally qualified with at least one of the following qualifications: Chartered Civil Engineer/Accredited NEC Project Manager/PRINCE2/APM
* Experience of working in the infrastructure sector with demonstrated experience of Project Management for Consultancy commissions, focussed on client advisory innovation and or continuous improvement work.
* Digitally adept with a knowledge of technological tools to improve workflow, AI, PowerBI etc
* Wider knowledge of contract law
* The successful candidate may also have a greater depth of technical knowledge in one or more areas of civil engineering asset management, design and/or construction
