The post is for a full time Junior Clinical Fellow (FY2-ST1 equivalent) for a fixed term 12 month placement in Paediatrics at Epsom Hospital to start August 2025.
The post holder will be expected to work on the Epsom General Paediatric Junior on call roster on a 1:8 basis. During this post the successful applicant will rotate through work in the general paediatric ward, paediatric A&E, the paediatric day case unit and on the level 1 NNU and postnatal ward.
An attending system is operated at Epsom where each week a Consultant is responsible for all acute paediatric and neonatal admissions and performs a daily ward round, and as well as attending twice daily consultant led handovers. This provides continuity as well as support and training for the junior staff, who are directly supported by middle grade staff throughout the 24 hour period.
The postholder will also have the opportunity to attend both general and specialist paediatric clinics in Cardiology, Neurology, Haematology, Genetics, Child Development, Epilepsy, CF Endocrinology and Respiratory Medicine.
