Developer Publications works with Software Engineering teams developing new technologies to create content and platforms that teach developers how to build great software for Apple’s platforms. We are looking for a world-class project manager capable of managing multiple initiatives of varying scale, complexity, and focus. You’ll collaborate with an amazing staff of engineers, authors, designers, and editors. As an experienced engineering project manager, you’ll help drive the delivery of world-class teaching materials, such as snippets, sample code, tutorials, API Reference, and Swift Playgrounds. You’ll bring the ability to manage projects of all sizes, levels of complexity, and secrecy, and play a critical role in their success. You’re a great communicator, who is extremely detail-oriented, proactive, focused, highly motivated, and thinks outside the box. You help teams identify and resolve problems in a constructive and scalable way. You do your best work leading dynamic and innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.
Description
As a project manager, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Collaborating across all phases (design, implementation, testing) of an engineering project and partnering multi-functionally.
2. Building project plans and schedules, tracking and prioritizing tasks across multiple product releases and efforts, simultaneously.
3. Identifying and resolving conflicts, inter-dependencies, and project issues quickly and effectively.
4. Facilitating requirement gathering and review sessions, program meetings, and events.
5. Evaluating technical risks and driving resolution on technical/engineering issues.
6. Having an analytic mentality, with a solid understanding of metrics to measure machine learning models and overall system quality.
7. Participating in evolving how projects are defined, managed, and delivered.
Minimum Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability in program or product management for software development, or equivalent technical management role.
* Software release experience managing complex, cross-functional projects; able to deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity.
* Experience developing and releasing a software product.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience leading strategic programs combined with the ability to implement at tactical project-level.
* Ability to track and prioritize tasks across multiple product releases and efforts simultaneously.
* Ability to understand priorities, clarify direction, and present clear project status.
* Exhibit a curious approach about new insights and process improvements.
* Excellent attention to detail, along with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships in order to partner with multiple teams across Apple.
* Experience working with instrumentation, data science, and data engineering teams to develop data collection and evaluation solutions.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
