Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical bias 50/50 split)
Reports to: Engineering Supervisor
Based at: Primarily Brookhouse Mill (Greenmount, Bury) but may be required to work at Holme Mill (Ramsbottom)
Hours per week: 40 hours, over 3 shifts 6-2, 2-10, 10-6. The hours will require a degree of flexibility for projects and holiday cover.
Job purpose: To ensure continuity of our production processes both by maintenance of, and improvement of, plant, equipment and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. First line for reactive maintenance of plant, buildings and equipment.
2. Carry out quality inspections and scheduled checks on machinery and complete PM’s.
3. Carry out statute inspections.
4. Finding and rectifying faults, working with the Co-ordinator to arrange replacement parts if required.
5. Actively work to eliminate obsolescence.
6. Maintaining manufacturing, ancillary and support processes.
7. Adhering to and promoting health and safety regulations.
8. Liaising with various departments within the business as required.
9. Providing a prompt and valuable service.
10. Work with the Co-ordinator to create PM schedules for electrical elements of machinery and facilities.
11. Work with the Co-ordinator to create a meaningful asset register and live stock list.
12. Cover team duties as required.
13. Understand how own role and KPI’s impact on organisation and department objectives.
14. Support manager to deliver the above.
15. Must have a flexible approach to working patterns.
Skills / Qualifications:
1. Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship.
2. Must have relevant experience in an industrial environment and be proficient with regard to control systems and drives using PLC’s and Inverters. Knowledge of, and experience with, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s as well as Lenze drives will be considered a distinct advantage.
3. Mechanical skills would be considered to be an advantage, including welding, fabrication and bench fitting.
4. Must be willing to undertake additional training to expand knowledge base and develop skills in line with organisational requirements.
5. You will be working with colleagues from other areas of the business, therefore good communication skills are essential.
