This is an exciting senior static role in the cardiac pathway of the Critical Care, Cardiac and Surgery Team.
Main duties of the job
Within this role, you will be working in the Bristol Heart Institute, the regional cardiac centre for the South West.
You will be looking after patients during their rehabilitation after cardiac surgery from intensive care through to the wards as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and training
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Health Professions Council registered
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Involvement in Relevant Special Clinical Interest Groups
Skills and abilities
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Ability to plan, prioritise & delegate
* Demonstrate Assessment, Analytical & Reflective skills across a diverse patient group
* Ability to effectively perform patient assessments & interventions, including manual therapy & therapeutic handling
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to travel between sites
* Knowledge of clinical Governance & its application to Occupational Therapy
* Ability to cope in a stressful environment undertaking moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and carrying out concurrent activities

Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working as part of an Occupational Therapy &/or multidisciplinary team
* Post graduate experience of working in a range of clinical areas
* Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
* Clinical supervision of students & technician staff
* Previous experience of working within a Critical Care environment
* Previous experience at Band 6
* Evidence of previous experience & participation in audit
* Previous NHS experience
* Credible & mature attitude, which is recognised & respected by other staff
* Demonstrates a commitment to own professional development
