A fantastic school in Swindon are looking for a Graduate (Criminology or Psychology would be relevant!) to work as a Learning Support Assistant from Monday to Friday, to start either immediately or in September. The school caters for pupils who have a range of social and emotional difficulties, as well as challenging behaviours and low self-esteem. You will play a significant role to ensure the students make positive choices, helping to guide their behaviour and increase their engagement in and outside the classroom.
In this Learning Support role, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of needs, including anxiety, social withdrawal, anger issues, trauma, grief and social difficulties. The school are therefore looking for an empathetic individual who is interested in helping others, is ready for a challenge and has an interest in SEMH difficulties.
By working both 1:1 and in group settings with these vulnerable students, you will gain the experienced needed to pursue a career in Youth Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Services or Teaching. This is an amazing platform for a graduate who wants to build their confidence working with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties.
