Our Area Operations team has a fantastic opportunity for a Jointers Mate to join them in Oldham on a full time basis. Our Role In this safety mate role, day to day work will involve working as part of a two-person team. Work will include street furniture faults, replacing single and three phase service terminations, finding and repairing customer services, restoring supplies to multiple customers including LV operations and repairing high voltage cables. You will be expected as part of a team to complete Point of Work Risk Assessments, raise permits, use disc cutters, breakers hand tools and mini diggers to excavate in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company codes of practice to provide access to our network in readiness for all aspects of jointing work. Who we re looking for To apply for this role, you will need to hold operational authorisations to act as a competent person, be in possession of a full UK driving licence and be willing to work outside in all weathers. You will also need the following: Be in possession of a full UK driving licence (essential) with categories BE (desirable); A customer-focused approach with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers Have experience and an understanding of utility records (essential); Hold a NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) accreditation (essential); Be willing to work outside in all weathers (essential) Have experience excavating, backfilling and reinstating to Highways Authorities and Utilities Committees (HAUC) specifications (desirable); What we re offering As a vital team member and in return for your expertise, inclusive approach and commitment, we'll provide a favourable salary and the chance to join a passionate and welcoming team.
