Your New Role Whilst working as a Maintenance Engineer you will report to the Maintenance Manager. You are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in our manufacturing process. This role involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to minimise downtime and enhance production efficiency. Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the risk of equipment failure Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults in manufacturing equipment Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations. Coordination: Work closely with production teams to address and resolve equipment-related issues Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive measures Training: Train and oversee junior maintenance staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures Parts Management: Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks Equipment Upgrades: Assist in the design, installation, and relocation of new or upgraded manufacturing equipment An element of on-call cover may be required. This role is vital for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the manufacturing process, ensuring that production targets are met without compromising on safety or quality. What You'll Need To Succeed In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience: Time-served apprenticeship within a mechanical, electrical or mechatronic discipline (essential) BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (desirable) Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems Experience with HOMAG equipment (Beam Saw, Edge Banding, CNC Drilling) (highly desirable). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software Strong communication and teamwork abilities Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
