Southern Water will be delivering a significant increase in its capital delivery programme over the next five-year period. We are also implementing a core enterprise system related to our work order management and asset data management, whilst making changes to our asset lifecycle process. To understand opportunities for process improvement and digitisation, there is a need to document our current processes in the first instance.
To achieve this, a team will need up to 6 months to complete this work, collaborating with business process owners, stakeholders, change managers, and digital architects to produce the processes required for the development of process improvements, associated change impact assessments, and the digital roadmap.
Producing the process baseline will enable new team members, once hired, to complete continuous improvement activities, making the effectiveness of the handover critical.
This activity forms part of the enablers workstream for the implementation of the new target operating model, reporting into the programme management team. This forms part of a wider programme of change work.
This role is for a business analyst, one of a team of two engaged on this with a permanent project manager, a solution architect, and other colleagues providing inputs or part-time delivery support and alignment.
Key Responsibilities
1. As-is business process mapping and documentation (50%)
2. Identification of process improvement opportunities (25%)
3. Presentation and reporting (10%)
