Job summary
An excitingopportunity as arisen for a dynamic individual with a passion to take therecareer further as a the lead nurse for a busy Orthopaedic trauma ward. You will be providing effective leadership,advice, support and guidance to your team ensuring safe, effective andefficient management of the ward.
You will havethe opportunity to lead a team whilst working closely with Orthopaedic andOrthogeriatric Consultants, Advanced clinical practitioners and Allied healthprofessionals who are all based within the orthopaedic trauma ward and workclosely together to deliver best outcomes for patients.
As the LeadNurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that ourservice users needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.

Main duties of the job
The Lead nurse will work in close Liaison with the Matron to consistently ensure the quality of patient carethrough efficiently and effectively managing the ward. The post holder willhave 24hour responsibility for their ward including delegated management ofidentified staff & financial resources.
You will have responsibility for theassessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation ofprogrammes of care including the neck of femur pathway and best Practicetariff. You will be setting the standards for clinical, professional andmanagerial standards of care.
A professional approach to work& act in accordance with the leadership behaviours agreed for the Trust andthe NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times. Seeking to promote andstrengthen leadership skills within staff in the clinical area.
You will be responsible for staff wellbeing, sickness management andrecruitment. A positive approach will be required towardsdriving a team forward to ensure high standards of patients care will always beachieved.

8. Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the speciality linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.
