Quality Assurance Technician
As a highly successful Shropshire based British beef supplier, Pickstock Telford has an exciting opportunity for 2 Quality Assurance Technicians to join their Quality team. The role will be based within the Abattoir, Boning Hall, and Despatch Departments, working to the quality sample plan. The role has great progression routes through the Quality department.
Please note: This job role is directly working in production and is production floor based.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Ensure quality checks are carried out to agreed procedures and schedules, including trailers and finished product checks.
* Ensure all products are labelled to specification.
* Compile non-conformance logs and take appropriate action.
* Check product and steriliser and fridge/freezer temperatures.
* Collect microbiological samples and log on to microbiology management system.
* Monitor general product quality and advise department supervisors/managers of any issues.
* Ensure procedural checks are carried out to agreed procedures and schedules, including product quality checks, temperature checks, metal detection verification, environmental swabbing, equipment calibration, product weight checks, tare checks, and label checks.
* Check that all information required on sheets is filled in and filed as appropriate.
* Operate to best Company policy.
* Adhere to current legislation regarding safe food production.
* Monitor staff personal hygiene practices.
* Ensure that products meet individual customer requirements.
* Check for contamination.
* Perform daily G&P checks.
* Conduct internal audit checks.
* Attend meetings as required.
* Work with and support a small team of QC’s undertaking online checks in your work area.
* Report daily ongoing KPI’s.
Key Attributes, Knowledge & Skills
* Proven experience working within a Quality Assurance role in the food manufacturing industry.
* Experience working with meat production.
* Clear understanding of HACCP.
* Strong team working and collaboration skills.
* Positive attitude and clear understanding of the purpose of Quality within a food manufacturing environment.

Pay: From £12.79 per hour
