Job overview
The Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit (PCDU) and Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team as a Developmental Practitioner. This role is aimed at Band 5 Practitioners who are looking to complete the Band 5 to Band 6 pathway whilst embedded in a supportive team in the Urgent Care Pathway.
The PCDU is a 48-hour assessment unit that accepts referrals from other mental health professionals for service users in crisis and/or struggling to remain in the community safely. PCDU provides an environment and atmosphere that is conducive to enabling service users access to high quality, thorough assessments that lead to well developed & service user centred care plans.
HBPoS provides a safe environment for service users detained under Section 136 & Section 135 of the Mental Health Act, allowing for therapeutic interaction with the staffing team prior to being assessed under the MHA.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a practitioner that is enthusiastic about the Urgent Care Pathway and is experienced in either inpatient or community care. Successful postholders will provide professional nursing management, foster effective and therapeutic relationships with service users and professionals, provide expert clinical advice and support, and provide leadership and guidance to the team on shift. The post holder will also work closely with a Senior Nurse in the team to help them complete the necessary proficiencies to move into the B6 role.
