QTS Physical Education Teacher needed in South London Area.
Are you a committed and dedicated Teacher of Physical Education looking for a new challenge in a supportive and progressive school?
A South East London based secondary school is looking to recruit a qualified Physical Education Teacher to enrich the learning and development of their students.
The successful candidate must be able to teach up to A Level and will ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the subject area through continuously developing and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.
Responsibilities:
1. Be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject area.
2. Raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole subject/curriculum area and monitor and support student progress.
3. Ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the department.
4. Teach the relevant subject across the age and ability range.
5. Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
6. Effectively manage and deploy staff, financial and physical resources within the department.
7. Share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, ideally with management training.
2. Strong understanding and competency in BTEC Sport.
3. Demonstrate successful teaching of GCSE at good or better level.
4. Experience in initiation and effective management of change.
5. Evidence of raising achievement in present post and showing good value added for groups.
6. Knowledge of current curriculum developments in subject and their implications.
7. Good knowledge and understanding of current educational thinking.
8. Understanding of how children learn and how to raise standards of achievement.
9. Good communication skills in speech and writing.
10. Excellent organisational skills.
11. Ability to build and sustain professional standards and relationships with students.
12. Contribute towards creating a safe and protective environment.
