About the Role:
In this role, you would be working on-site at customer locations, both in UK and abroad, either on your own or leading a small team. After completion of product training (in factory and on the job training) you will install, commission and test MSI designed Weapon Systems utilising your electronic, digital, electromechanical skills. The main responsibilities include:
* Carrying out Installation, commissioning, repair, service and training of Gunnery Systems and Submarine Navigation Plotting Tables and other company products
* Once trained and deemed competent, carrying out live firing of weapon mounted systems.
* Carrying out testing to ensure accurate fault diagnosis.
* Coordinating with the Project Managers and Customer Support Manager in order to ensure effective delivery of service to the customer at their sites.
* Producing complete, accurate and timely reports.
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, whilst delivering high standards of work and customer service.
* Adhering to health and safety practices and procedures.
* Constructing, conducting and instructing training courses within the factory and at customer locations
* Attending Sea Trials for periods of times at sea, keeping to ship routines.
* Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role.
About you
Essential:
* Deg/HND/HNC/ONC Electronic Engineering.
* Proven and demonstrable field service experience.
* Technical knowledge of diagnosing and repairing, digital, electronic, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
* Polite and confident in speaking at all levels
* Physically fit to Eng 1 standard and be capable of passing Sea Survival course.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in Weapons inspection, repair and servicing.
* Experience of compiling and delivering Training courses
* Previous customer facing Service Engineer role
* Drive and willingness to learn and develop
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
* Physically fit to be able to work in harsh (hot and cold) environments in the UK and overseas.
* Work inclusively in a small close-knit team, parting knowledge and sharing information is critical to the success of a first-time diagnosis of customer equipment failures.
* Open plan office environment
