LHH is delighted to be supporting our client, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, to appoint the Head of External Affairs and Campaigns.
The impact of vision loss is huge. But with the right support, people with vision loss can gain the skills to remain independent and active in their communities - to thrive. That's why we're here.
For 230 years, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans has been supporting people impacted by vision loss. We believe we play an important role in continually shifting the conversation around sight loss, and contributing to achieving a fair, equitable society. Over the years, we've seen a positive shift in expectations, with individuals and communities increasingly empowered to live lives the way they choose, free of discrimination.
The Head of External Affairs and Campaigns leads the organisation's policy, campaigns, influencing and stakeholder engagement work. You will manage relationships with key stakeholders including the media and politicians and lead the development of high-impact political influencing campaigns that change the lives of people living with sight loss in Scotland and significantly expand reach and profile for Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans. The postholder will define clear policy and influencing objectives grounded in evidence and research, ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience of sight loss are incorporated into our policy asks and campaigns.
This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional networking and communication skills and a proven track record in policy and public affairs as well as the ability to grow a network of campaign supporters who back our calls, petitions and letter writing campaigns across Scotland. We are looking for an individual with demonstrable significant experience of leading, developing and motivating policy and public affairs functions; creating a culture of high performance and deploying people to achieve strategic priorities.
The role supports the organisation's purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising reach and profile to ensure their voice is amplified through effective policy and campaigns. If this opportunity sounds of interest and you are ready to join an organisation that is making a difference to our society, we welcome your application.
