Role Responsibilities:
1. Work within the immediate team as well as the wider Engineering and Product teams, to design, build, test, provision and maintain software components that will work both in the cloud and on-premises.
2. Work using the Scrum framework to deliver the software components identified by the business.
3. Encourage and enforce software development, cloud engineering and information security and Scrum best practices throughout the team and wider organisation.
4. Employed as a Software Engineer. Your duties will be advised by your manager. Your duties may be modified from time to time to suit the needs of the business. However, if modified it will remain within the confines of software engineering and development.
5. Design, build, test, and release software components for use in the business’ product suite, that operate both in the cloud and on-premises.
6. Champion quality. Write well organized, testable, and high performing code.
7. Help to build and maintain the automated CI/CD pipelines.
8. Accountability for the successful release of products.
9. Understand and practice building secure software, to limit the risk of security breaches to the product suite.
10. Have deep knowledge of operating at scale, including replication, monitoring and optimization.
11. Address system and software bugs, develop product enhancements, and launch new features to scale.
12. Write clear and concise documentation ensuring all documentation is up to date; share knowledge internally and across teams.
13. Help identify technical and security risks.
14. Collaborate with Product Management and Design teams.
15. Work within a cross-functional software team (consisting of Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and testers).
16. Work with other teams within engineering that support all technologies as we move to one consolidated platform from the current multi-technology environment.
17. Work with other teams across multiple countries and time-zones.
18. Work within a Scrum team, taking responsibility and accountability for your part in improving the quality of the team.
Required skills/experience/qualifications:
1. Experience of SQL and NoSQL.
2. Experience of using infrastructure-as-code in Terraform.
3. Experience of building secure REST APIs with Swagger / Open API.
4. Experience of working in a commercial environment.
5. Experience of working with AWS (Containers / Serverless).
6. Experience of working with Unit Tests.
7. Ruby on Rails.
8. NodeJS.
9. Git and Azure DevOps.
Desired skills/experience/qualifications:
1. Computer Science Degree 2.1 or higher.
2. Qualifications in AWS.
3. Qualification in Azure.
4. UNIX / Linux.
5. Python.
6. DataBricks.
7. PowerBI.
8. Docker and Kubernetes.

1. Demonstrated proficiency in software development.
