Job Description:
Our client is looking for an Engineer to join their Traffic Engineering team in Haringey. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to take the lead in development, review, design, and consultation of a range of schemes to support developments where funding has been secured through s106/278 agreements.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of highways, traffic, and transport-related legislation, as well as an understanding of the current planning, sustainability, and economic agendas which influence delivery.
Responsibilities of the role:
1. To develop solutions to highway, traffic, and transport-related problems.
2. To be responsible for feasibility studies, detailed design, and delivery of schemes.
3. To liaise and work with internal and external clients.
4. To plan, programme, and deliver projects in a timely and effective manner.
5. To adhere to all council procedures relating to project work.
6. To write project briefs, draft reports, and provide information for presentations to the public and councillors.
Requirements of the role:
1. An understanding of the principal responsibilities of the local government and the public sector in respect of highway, traffic, and transport design and management.
2. Experience and knowledge of highway-related safety legislation and practice.
3. A thorough understanding of relevant highway management legislation and statutory duties.
4. A record of successful and consistent delivery of traffic and parking schemes.
5. Possession of a relevant professional qualification and suitable experience.
