What will I be doing?
The Facilities Engineer will work as part of the Facilities team to support the site's footprint project, involving detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment.
Developing the new layout configuration working with the manufacturing engineering and the tooling team to optimise the layout and manage the procurement, installation and commissioning of the infrastructure facility ready to move, commission and handover the assembly line in its new location.
This fixed term contract role would ideally suit an Engineer experienced with assembly line installations, service installations, factory layouts, line moves and project engineering.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Analysis of the industrial need, feasibility studies and initial proposals
2. Detail 3D & 2D designs and layout drawings using CATIA and AUTOCAD
3. Building services lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure and vacuum services
4. Point of use services to assembly line, vac, electricity, air, data
5. Working with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
6. Working with suppliers to develop a technical and commercial solution
7. Working collaboratively with various stakeholders (manufacturing engineers, tooling, HSE)
8. Strategic planning of new facilities to ensure alignment with future needs
9. Facility specifications for RFQ tenders and buy-off criteria
10. Ensure critical geometry is recorded prior to fixture moves
11. Planning and supervising the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
12. Full control of contractors to Safran and site SHE standards Inc. UK CDM legislation
13. Production of technical data to train and handover the asset to the operations team
14. Support on training and fault finding on installed facility post commissioning
15. Working closely with suppliers during installation and commissioning stages
16. Evaluation of risks and mitigation measures put in place
Job Requirements
What do you need from me?
• Time served Engineer
• Good Working Knowledge of building services
• Experienced CAD operator 2D & 3D CATIA
• Qualified to HNC Mech Engineering
• Project management experience
• Experienced user of MS Office package
• Good interpersonal skills
• IOSH Working Safely Cert
• Good working knowledge of building safety
• Six Sigma green belt
• Risk Analysis techniques
• Good analytical skills
