“Staff turnover is low because teachers enjoy working at the school” Ofsted 2022
Northfleet School for Girls is a vibrant and caring school with a great community feel. Over recent years we have been growing rapidly (62% increase in student roll since 2017) and we believe this is due to the following key areas:
* A real passion to develop the whole student as well as achieve excellent academic progress
* A dedicated staffing team who really care and a clear commitment by leaders to staff wellbeing
* Great student behaviour and engagement, allowing staff and students to flourish
Senior Finance and Payroll Officer
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Finance and Payroll Officer to oversee the financial and payroll operations. The key areas of focus are ensuring financial controls are adhered to across the school, responsible for end-to-end payroll procedures, and supporting the Business Operations Manager with management of the finance function.
This is a permanent post for 37 hours per week and term time plus 3 weeks during school closures: 1 week at Easter, 1 week in Summer, 1 week as needed (42 weeks per year). The working pattern is 08:00-16:00 Mon-Thurs/08:00-15:30 Fri. Part-time considered.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous payroll and school finance experience; however, full training will be provided. We are looking for an ambitious candidate that may have aspirations for a School Business Manager role in the future.
Why work at our school?
* A clear commitment to staff wellbeing through our wellbeing charter, including workload reviews, wellbeing meeting slots, paid staff social organiser, wellbeing spaces, and free use of our professional fitness suite
* Outstanding facilities, including our community farm, fitness suite, recording studio, expansive library, new MUGA, and professional performing arts spaces.
* Very strong use of IT across the school including 1-1 laptop scheme and interactive touch screens in all classrooms.
* Performance management reviews take place annually in September with the opportunity for a performance-related pay increase once an employee is eligible, i.e. has been employed long enough for evidence to be provided.
