Role: Electrical Shift Engineer
Shift: 5 On 4 Off x2 (Days & Nights) – Followed By 12 Days Off
Salary: Upto £50,000 per annum + Benefits
Location: Near Humberside Airport - Commutable from Grimsby, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Immingham, Market Rasen, Gainsborough and surrounding areas
The Opportunity
This successful heavy plant manufacturing company offers challenging and rewarding careers for their large team of Maintenance Engineers. Through continued growth, they are now seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer with good experience across Planned Preventative Maintenance, breakdowns, project work, and infrastructure/production improvements.
As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will:
Work closely with the wider engineering & production teams to ensure machinery is safe & downtime is kept to a minimum through delivery of a blend of planned, preventative, project, and improvement tasks.
You will undertake electrical diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across the site’s electrical machinery, infrastructure & buildings.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a team, the Electrical Shift Engineer provides planned and reactive maintenance for electrical systems across a large, automated manufacturing facility, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with the EH&S guidelines.
Work includes 3 phase systems, SCADA, motors, VSDs, instrumentation, inverters, and PLCs, as well as carrying out breakdown diagnostics through Root Cause Analysis to support the elimination of repeat failures.
Undertaking electrical equipment specific inspections as per the CMMS schedule, ensuring to maintain accurate and effective data across files & records, including the use of the CMMS systems.
To ensure that onsite spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Good Electrical Maintenance skills including some or all of the following: 3 Phase systems, PLC troubleshooting – Ladder Logic or Function Block skills are highly desirable, SCADA systems, VSDs, Motors, inverters, instrumentation, etc.
Good troubleshooting & diagnostics skills preferably including RCA.
Experience of electrical equipment inspections & jobs issued via the CMMS schedule.
Maintain & update files/records using the CMMS system.
Ensure spares are kept to optimum levels and spares used in PPM or repairs are recorded to enable Stores inventory to be updated accurately.
Electrical qualifications - Minimum C&G/NVQ Level 3 (HNC or HND level is highly desirable).
Good ability to read complex electrical diagrams.
Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of MS office packages.
Good communication and team skills.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
