The Portobello Older People’s Project SCIO (POPP) is a lunch and social club for isolated and lonely older people in Portobello, Edinburgh. It offers members the chance to come together, enjoy a meal, and take part in social activities, such as quizzes, games, discussions, entertainments, and outings. It runs on a Tuesday and Wednesday, currently from the Portobello Baptist Church Hall, and supports up to 20 older people, 10 a day.
POPP is registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). It is run by a management committee, made up of trustees and representatives of volunteers and members.

The successful candidate will be someone who combines strong organisational and management skills with an understanding of and empathy for older people.
