YMCA Robin Hood Group's Supported Housing team in Nottinghamshire provides 24-hour support for homeless young people and adults based from our 98 bed Shakespeare Street Hostel, our network of over 260 beds in transitional homes across the city and 31 beds across Mansfield and surrounding areas. We are looking for a Housing Manager to manage a team of Housing Duty Workers, ensuring the smooth running of each shift. This includes ensuring our residents are fully supported and assistance provided where required, our properties are safe and secure, and that your team of Housing Duty Workers are equally supported and organised. Our Housing Duty team are the heart and soul of our housing service; being the first people most of our residents come into contact with, you will be there to support them with anything they need but also oversee the smooth running of the building in general. Our Housing Duty teams are one of the busiest and cover the largest variety of roles in our service; you will cover everything from support work, incidents, administration, security, fire safety, cleaning support, and anything else that might crop up while you are on shift. This is the perfect role for anyone who enjoys variety, loves being busy and thrives off never being able to predict exactly what will happen that day Being the Manager on duty, your role will be primarily to ensure everything is covered each shift Whether managing an incident, supporting a resident or sorting an maintenance issue, you will need to be a resourceful and practical to find a resolution to whatever may arise. You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hour per week. We work on a 3 week rolling rota so you would have advance warning of your shift patterns. The weekly shift patterns are: 7am - 3pm 3pm - 11pm 11am - 7pm We can offer you flexibility to find a working pattern that works for you around these shifts - we could consider a fixed rota pattern or even something crossing the shifts We are open to find something which works for all of us. We are looking for someone who also has experience of working in supported housing with vulnerable adults and young people aged 16-25 years old. You will need to have an understanding of the needs of young people (aged 16 – 25) who may have drug, alcohol and other issues. Regardless of your background, you will be confident to deal with difficult situations and handle conflict appropriately. You won’t shy away from those difficult situation and be the calm presence in any crisis. You team will be able to look to you for direction and instruction. You will need to be able to: · Work with minimal supervision, use initiative, work alone and work as part of a team · Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies · Deal with conflict, manage aggressive behaviour and diffuse situations effectively · Talk to people of all background and abilities, with excellent communication skills · Form and maintain relationships with appropriate professional boundaries If you are looking for career progression, we are very keen to support and develop our employees with ongoing training and qualification.
