Compliance Manager
Reporting to: Head of Legal, Regulatory and Compliance
Based in: Wilton

Position Overview:
Sembcorp is growing rapidly and expanding into many new areas to reach our goal of becoming a leading provider of sustainable solutions as we work to achieve net-zero. This growth has created a new role to bring together our compliance function. The Compliance Manager will ensure Sembcorp complies with all regulatory and compliance areas, putting in place an industry-leading framework to ensure Sembcorp's 'licence to operate'. Working closely with regulatory colleagues will be essential as the role holder drives excellence in compliance at the heart of the developing net-zero focused policy and regulations which will ultimately drive value for Sembcorp.
A strong commercial focus will be needed, with the candidate ensuring the connections are made between regulation (both current and future) and the entire diverse power generation and storage portfolio within the Sembcorp business. Collaboration is key for this role. The Compliance Manager will need to build strong relationships with colleagues from across the business to ensure compliance best practice and a full joined-up approach.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement and improve our compliance infrastructure including:
1. Compliance strategy and roadmap
2. Compliance policies and procedures
3. Lead development and dissemination of training across the business
4. Support/lead applications for any regulatory permissions needed in new markets
5. Ensure compliance risks are identified, assessed, controlled, managed and monitored
6. Put in place internal and external compliance reporting
7. Monitor key regulatory developments and implications for Sembcorp and ensure appropriate remediation and escalation
8. Deliver expert compliance advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
1. Experience of operating in a heavily regulated sector within the UK
2. Experience of building and implementing compliance frameworks, roadmaps and strategy
3. Ability to translate complex regulations into practical pragmatic policies and guidance to business audiences
4. Strong stakeholder management and networking skills
5. Strong team building skills
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of UK power and gas licences and network codes regulatory frameworks and requirements
2. Knowledge of wholesale market and trading regulations such as REMIT, MIFID, EMIR
3. Knowledge of the UK legislative process
