Get Work Ready with ELSA Next Generation at Stanborough School
One-off role (set time/location) · 4–8 hrs · by 14 Jul 2025
Summary: To ensure students begin to understand the steps from education to employment, whilst networking and learning from the volunteers.
Detailed description
At our Get Work Ready day, young individuals step into the shoes of real-world interview and job application scenarios used by local, national, and international employers, through workshops in classrooms they rotate through during the day. They tackle individual and team assessments, creative problem-solving tasks, customer service simulations, practical assignments, and interviews, all guided by enthusiastic business volunteers like you.
Are you a professional looking to inspire young minds? We invite you to take on the role of a mock interviewer or lead recruitment workshops. Don't worry, we provide you with interview questions as a guide, but feel free to adapt them to the unique young individuals in front of you. There's no right or wrong way to approach this—just be yourself. We'll make sure you're comfortable and confident when you arrive.
Throughout the day, our goal is to provide students with a firsthand experience of workplace and recruitment challenges and an insight into the essential skills sought after by today's employers.
Your contribution is invaluable, and the impact you'll have on these students' lives is immeasurable. Let's inspire, empower, and prepare them for the workplace together.
If you're excited to share your expertise, ignite young minds, and be a part of a transformative experience, please reach out to us. Your ideas and insights are more than welcome!
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need more information. Your involvement matters, and we sincerely thank you in advance for making a difference.
ELSA Next Generation is a Community Interest Company that delivers bespoke educational programmes to young people nationwide. At ELSA we feel that everyone should have the chance to achieve. ELSA places greater emphasis on social skills, life skills and empowering young people to realise their potential. ELSA works with all young people both in mainstream and specialist education, delivering workshops which encourage debate, discussion, honesty and aspirational pathways, all aimed to increase self-esteem and self-worth.
ELSA Next Generation works across all educational settings raising aspirations in children’s homes and with care leavers, with young people who are excluded from school, those with physical and neurological disabilities, those young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and others in mainstream schools who may simply be 'currently' getting lost in the ether.
