The Role
We are partnered with an exciting manufacturing company who are seeking an EHS Advisor to provide a specialist support function to their manufacturing process. This role supports the continuous improvement of process and engineering resolutions to complex, multi-disciplined challenges.
Job Purpose of the EHS Advisor:
The EHS Advisor will play a pivotal role in supporting a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence within the organization. Operating as a strategic partner to the business, the EHS Advisor will work collaboratively with operational teams to implement effective practices, ensuring both compliance and continuous improvement in EHS standards across the company.
Key Skills and Experience needed:
* Proven experience in an EHS role, preferably within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
* Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to partner with operational teams to drive practical, business-aligned EHS solutions.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* NEBOSH or equivalent EHS qualification (highly desirable; if you have practical experience then the client can support you obtaining a NEBOSH Certificate).
* Proficiency in EHS management systems and reporting tools.
EHS Advisor Responsibilities:
* Partners closely with operational teams to embed EHS practices into day-to-day activities, ensuring safety and environmental considerations are integral to all business operations.
* Ensures compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, standards, and internal policies by conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
* Leads thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative measures to minimize future risks.
* Develops and delivers EHS training programs, fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental stewardship through proactive employee engagement.
* Identifies and drives initiatives to enhance EHS performance, leveraging data analysis to uncover trends and implement innovative solutions.
* Acts as a key advisor to management and employees, building trust and influencing behaviours to prioritize EHS excellence across all levels of the organization.
