As an Autism Specialist Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering personalised education plans, fostering students' social and emotional development, and promoting a positive and engaging learning experience.
The Role:
As an Autism Specialist Teacher, you will work closely with students across a range of abilities and needs. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Personalised Learning: Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with autism, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
2. Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and track student progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues, and adjusting learning plans as needed.
3. Social and Emotional Support: Create a supportive and structured environment that encourages students to develop confidence, resilience, and social skills.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to each student s education.
5. Behaviour Management: Implement effective strategies to support positive behaviour and address challenges in a constructive and supportive manner.
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching students with autism.
• In-depth understanding of autism and strategies to support students effectively.
• Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with students with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience in planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
