Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Support worker to join the successful Infant Feeding Team, within the Women and Children's Division.
The ideal candidate should have infant feeding experience within a maternity setting, have a basic general education, and currently hold NVQ level 2 qualifications in Health care or the equivalent, have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral and be committed to undertake relevant qualifications.
An education programme and mandatory training will be available for the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
As an Infant feeding clinical support worker you would be working primarily on the Maternity ward in a clinical setting.
Working alongside the midwifery team, you will be expected to provide evidence based knowledge and information for all aspects of infant feeding and act as a resource and support for mothers and midwifery staff in the initiation, establishment and development (maintenance) of breast feeding, and artificial feeding.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard/enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months.
As this vacancy is within the division of Womens and Childrens, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £16 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
