We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented engineer to work with our client in Aldermaston who has a passion for designing high-precision measurement systems. If you have expertise in load-cell design and are eager to contribute to cutting-edge engineering projects, we encourage you to apply Responsibilities Design and development of transducers and related fixtures and fittings, using 3D CAD software and 2D drawing creation. (Solidworks) Design of automated mechanical testing systems. Hands-on experience in finite element analysis (FEA) for stress, deflection, and optimization studies. Create detailed technical drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Conduct engineering calculations, including stress, strain and load analysis, ensuring designs meet performance and reliability standards. Evaluate and implement manufacturing techniques to improve product quality, cost-effectiveness and production efficiency. Support prototype fabrication, testing and calibration of load cells to ensure performance consistency. Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Experience / Qualifications Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience in design of precision components. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks). Deep understanding of stress and strain principles, material behaviour, and mechanical properties. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, welding, and assembly. Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Desirable: Experience in 3D printing and CNC machining Experience in calibrating and testing load cells using dead weights or other calibration systems. Understanding of sensor electronics and signal processing. Details Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Working Hours: 09:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday (flexible with hybrid options).
