One of my local government clients is currently recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance and Street Cleansing Manager on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
This is a hybrid working role; however, you will be required to attend the office 2-3 times a week.
Overview:
1. To ensure the delivery of public realm services of the borough are maintained to a good standard which includes grounds maintenance (grass cutting and vegetation management) and street cleansing.
2. Oversee management of the borough's open spaces, sports facilities, and play areas to ensure their safety and accessibility to users and undertake cemetery provision.
3. To proactively manage the contractors and delivered services to provide a good customer experience and sound financial management.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for complete Contract management for Street cleansing (operational & strategic) for the entire borough.
2. Responsible for complete Contract management for Grounds maintenance (operational & strategic) for the entire borough.
3. Parks & open spaces management, cemeteries, sport and leisure (operational & strategic) for the entire borough.
4. Responsible for internal stakeholder liaison meetings and contract meetings; undertake GIS (Mapping) improvements and maintenance.
5. Responsible for delivering project work associated with the contracts including encroachment solutions, service reviews, and transfer of land.
6. Feed into the customer journey and make improvements where required.
7. Responsible for commenting on all planning applications in conjunction with the Green Infrastructure Team.
8. Responsible for site adoption and handovers.
9. Responsible for supporting the development of the service areas.
10. Responsible for the procurement of equipment i.e. litter bins etc for the contract.
