Talocher School are looking to recruit an outstanding Humanities Teacher to join our Teaching team!
We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our learners. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.
Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 who have Additional Learning Needs (ALN). We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their needs.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction that meets the needs of students with ASC and associated needs, fostering engagement and promoting independence
* Assess pupils’ progress and needs regularly, using data to inform planning and set achievable goals. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
* Provide tailored support to pupils, implementing strategies for social, emotional, and behavioral development. Encourage positive interactions and foster an inclusive classroom culture
* Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education and well-being
* Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in supporting pupils with ASC and associated needs. Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues
* Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes respect and learning
* Experience and passion for humanities desirable
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working with students with ASC and associated needs, ideally in a school setting
* Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and tailored teaching strategies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
* Experience of teaching pupils in key stage 3 & 4 desirable
