This role has a starting salary of £40,296 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is a 12-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grants Support Officer to join our Economy and Growth team to support the successful delivery of the Surrey Economic Growth Fund investment programme.
The team are located in various sites across the county and your preferred location can be discussed at interview. This role is open tohybrid workingand, as a team, we split our time betweenworking from homeand collaborating in the office.

About the Team
The Economy and Growth team is focused on the sustainable economic development of the whole of Surrey, collaborating across the organisation to operate as 'One Council' in the delivery of our strategy priorities to grow a sustainable economy and leaving no one behind. We provide valued strategic services focusing on business support, innovation, skills, and places for the benefit of the county's 1.2 million residents. We work with partners and major employers (such as Amazon, Asahi, WWF-UK, Samsung and McLaren) to champion and futureproof the country's leading regional economy, which is home to 110,000 businesses and contributes £50 billion a year to UK economy.
About the role
This is a key role providing vital operational and governance support to ensure that investments are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with strategic priorities across Surrey.
Working closely with the Fund Programme Officer, you will help ensure that funding decisions are underpinned by robust processes and governance. You will support grant management and monitoring processes, provide impartial advice to applicants, and play a critical role in ensuring programme transparency, reporting accuracy, and risk management.
You will contribute to the delivery of a multi-million capital and revenue funding programme, through grant and contract management, tracking individual project progress, and escalating any delivery risks or issues. You will also help ensure that internal systems, including CRM and reporting tools, are consistently used to support programme delivery and collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the funding approval and governance process, ensuring transparency and compliance with the Economic Growth Funding Framework.
* Administer and manage grant agreements and contracts, including monitoring project spend, performance, and compliance.
* Provide advice and support to applicants and stakeholders throughout the funding process.
* Track programme performance and risks, escalating issues where necessary to the Fund Programme Officer.
* Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting through CRM and project tracking systems.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and reporting processes.
* Work collaboratively across the Economy and Growth team and wider organisation to support cross-cutting economic outcomes.
* Produce clear and concise reports to inform decision-making and programme oversight.
Shortlisting Criteria
We are looking for a Grants Support Officer who can bring a collaborative approach to working horizontally across teams and stakeholders, supporting robust programme delivery in line with our vision and strategic priorities.
To be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly demonstrate the following essential experience and skills:
* Proven experience in supporting the delivery and administration of grant programmes
* Experience in grant agreement and contract oversight, including compliance monitoring
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong project management and programme monitoring skills
* A good understanding of CRM systems and other related IT tools
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present clearly and concisely
* Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced, target-driven operational environment
