We are seeking a dedicated Study Skills Mentor to support students with specific learning difficulties in colleges and universities in Aberdeen.
About the Role
As a Study Skills Mentor, you will provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to develop independence, build on their strengths and learning strategies, and create action plans to stay on track with their studies.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop individual learning plans tailored to each student's needs
* Support students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies
* Create strategies around organisation and time management
* Help students to build on research skills, widen knowledge, and distinguish appropriate sources
* Support students to build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Requirements
* Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths
* Punctuality and reliability
* Good organisational skills
* Relevant professional body memberships
* Ability to manage a caseload of students
