The Role Hain Daniels are currently recruiting for a Process Control Officer at our Histon, Cambridgeshire site. In Histon, we manufacture a host of ambient sweet spreads and jellies for our grocery brands. These includes Hartley's jams and jellies, Gale's honey, Rose's and Robertsons marmalade's. Key Responsibilities / Accountability of the Role: Safety, Quality, Hygiene Compliance of products, processes, the manufacturing environment & personnel to current EU and UK food safety legislation Monitor and communicate for compliance to department quality, safety & GMP policies/procedures Advise on food safety issues by involvement in HACCP studies and spoilage incident investigations Promote & encourage a culture of high standards in food safety and quality, leading by example. Personally demonstrate the correct safety behaviours, ensuring safe operating practices are followed. In a timely manner, assist in the completion of Quality root cause analysis. Support site initiatives to reduce accidents and near misses. Operations Management Monitor the entire manufacturing process for conformance to critical safety parameters with reference to agreed procedures and limits (in HACCP) to ensure standards of product safety are maintained. Ensuring that all define product testing and operational checks are completed at the required frequency. Monitor compliance to, site quality procedures, product- & process-specifications during processing. Provide accurate recipes, which ensure optimum quality and yield. Issuing them in a timely manner to meet production needs. Continually monitor all intermediates, WIP and finished products in the designated area of responsibility effectively using the MOM solution and physically reviewing the product through the production flow. Provide current product attribute and packaging standards along with current SOP’s if required. Provides and applies the technical knowledge to process situations. Maintains equipment standards and functionality. Understands ingredients and plant functionality to achieve optimum output working with the area team to improve quality and efficiency delivery. Monitors and controls process control parameters to meet the customer specifications. Effectively communicates key information to Process Control and Operations teams. Displays proactive behavioural traits to instigate solutions and prevent operational errors. Leads by example in carrying out routine and exceptional tasks bringing a professional aspect to all activities. Intervenes when quality and safety are not adhered to, understanding the consequences of actions taken. Monitor report and assist in the resolution issues around GMP. Continuous Improvement Support site teams in CI initiatives for continuous improvement in quality, hygiene and efficiency monitoring during manufacturing. Promote a continuous improvement approach to reduce risk of incidents involving contamination, spoilage safety of finished products or Not Right First Time issues. Communication Meet with colleagues within and across function (Production managers, Production Planner, Engineering, Cell leaders, NPD and Operations) to progress internal and external audit findings and corrective actions. Effective delivery of instructions re process or analytical changes to operations teams Attend department team briefs.
