An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced support worker to join our Physiotherapy team working at the University Hospital of Wales. As part of the Physiotherapy team, you will be delivering early rehabilitation programmes to patients within the Trauma wards.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an interest in rehabilitation. Excellent communication skills are key, and it is important that you are a team player with a positive outlook, enthusiasm, and the ability to learn and develop new skills. Previous experience in rehabilitation in the acute hospital setting would be advantageous.
The post holder will be required to work a 7-day job plan to support the delivery of a 7-day Physiotherapy service.
A full and comprehensive training programme will be available.
Main duties of the job
Principally to provide a service, under the direction of a registered practitioner, to the individuals within a defined area. They will work with direction to assist the registered practitioner in clinical and administrative duties following specific competency-based training. They will independently carry out routine treatment programmes to both individuals and groups which have been delegated by a registered practitioner. They will progress within guidelines laid down by the registered practitioner. They will be responsible and accountable for these tasks.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education, numeracy, and literacy to at least GCSE level.
* NVQ3 level or equivalent.
* Evidence of further education e.g., relevant NVQs, sport science degree.
* Agored Diploma in Physiotherapy support.
Experience
* Healthcare work.
* Dealing with people both individually or in groups.
* Worked within a rehabilitation setting.
* Previous Physiotherapy support worker or Therapy technician experience.
* NHS experience.
* Experience in class taking.
Skills
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
